  • Threegenerations of potters
  • High-firedto 2400°F (cone 10) in a gas kiln

That high firing is what makes it tough. It goes in the microwave, the oven and the dishwasher, and it can live outside in your garden without fading.

Our story

Mother, daughter, granddaughter

We're three generations of potters: Phyllis Burnett, her daughter Jennifer, and Jennifer's daughter Kate Wygal. We've been making pottery together for more than 40 years.

Everything we sell, we make. Some pieces are thrown on the wheel; others are rolled out in slabs and built by hand. Then each one is glazed and painted, one at a time, with lead-free glazes and stains. Cherries, strawberries, wildflowers, butterflies, little frogs. Whatever ends up on a piece, one of us painted it.

No two come out quite alike. A little variation in size or glaze is part of handmade, and honestly, it's our favorite part. Thank you for collecting our work. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy making it.

How it's made

From clay to kiln

  1. Kate at work

    Made by hand

Every piece starts as plain clay, thrown on the wheel or rolled into slabs and shaped by hand. Then it gets glazed and painted, one at a time.

    Loading the kiln

Everything goes into the gas kiln and fires to cone 10, about 2400°F.

  3. Opening the kiln

    Unloading after the firing

High firing makes it tough enough for the dishwasher, the oven and a year outside in the garden.

What we make

Out of the kiln

No prices here. To us, every piece is priceless. Come to a show and see how affordable they really are, and know that every one is a little different. Tap any photo to see it bigger.

Kitchen

Plates, bowls, colanders, pitchers, mugs and butter dishes, made to be used every day.

Garden

Birdbaths, birdhouses, garden signs, plaques, plant markers and critters that live outside year-round without fading.

Fairy Garden

A tiny world of cottages, gnomes, toadstools, frogs, bunnies, puppies and kittens. Kids love it. So do grown-ups.

Gifts & Seasonal

Christmas ornaments, snowmen, hearts, plaques and other little gifts.
